Custom Industrial Control Backlighting Capabilities

CSI Keyboards offers custom backlighting solutions that improve visibility, functionality, and appearance in low-light environments. Our options include LED, light guide film (LGF), electroluminescent (EL), and fiber optic backlighting, all tailored to provide consistent illumination and enhance the user experience.

LEDs

LEDs provide a cost-effective, energy-efficient solution for illuminating membrane switch keys, icons, symbols, and indicators. Combined with Light Guide Film (LGF) and CSI Keyboards’ custom backlighting techniques, LEDs deliver bright, uniform illumination across the user interface.

Light Guide Film (LGF)

Light Guide Film (LGF) distributes light from LEDs evenly across the user interface, delivering bright, uniform illumination while reducing LED count and power consumption. CSI’s optimized LGF designs minimize hot spots and light leakage for a cleaner, more consistent appearance.

Electroluminescence (EL)

Electroluminescent (EL) backlighting uses a thin layer of printable phosphor-based ink between the graphic overlay and circuit to provide bright, uniform illumination while maintaining a slim membrane switch design.

Fiber Optics

Fiber optic backlighting provides a thin, flexible layer between the graphic overlay and circuit, delivering even illumination across the entire membrane switch surface.
